Couples non resident in Catalonia - STERILITY BASIC STUDY
- Complete Gynaecological revision with last year's cytology. It can be made in Girona during the first visit.
- Updated gynaecological scan, to make an in-depth evaluation of the uterus and ovarian morphology.
- Updated general blood test (less than 6 months) that will include complete hemogram, blood group, and Rh. Renal and hepatic biochemist. Serology, toxoplasma, lues, German measles, HIV, HBsAg, HCsAg, HepC.
- Hormone test that will be made between the second and fifth day of the period. It can be made in the laboratory of the town of residence.
- Hysterosalpingogram in case the treatment is oriented towards artificial insemination. It will not be necessary if the case is candidate to IVF directly. It will be made between the 8th and 12th day after the period. It can be made in the town of residence.
- The Semen test that can be brought from the laboratory of the town of residence, as long as it is a specialised laboratory in seminal tests. It is recommended to obtain a confirmation of the seminal quality the same day of the first visit, so 3 to 5 days of abstinence before the first visit are recommended.
With all the information collected the diagnostic can be defined and the treatment to be followed can be started.
