Couples non resident in Catalonia - INTRODUCTION
It is very important to make a good diagnostic of the cause of sterility before planning the treatment to be followed. In this way, the treatment is individualised and the couple knows the reason why there can be no pregnancy.
Treatments offered:
. Artificial insemination with semen from the partner
. Artificial insemination with semen from a donor
. In Vitro Fertilization (IVF)
. In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) with Intracytoplasmic sperm injection (IVF with ICSI)
. In Vitro Fertilization with donor eggs
. Transfer of donor embryos
. IVF with Preimplantation Genetic Diagnostic
Before starting the specific treatment, it is necessary to complete the sterility basic study. The necessary tests can be brought by the couple from their place of origin or they can make them in our Centre.
At first sight we recommend couples to bring with them all the tests they have (blood tests, report from the usual gynaecologist, semen test, .) This will avoid repeating tests already made and only the tests needed to complete the diagnostic will be requested.
This information can also be sent the days previous to the first visit to avoid unnecessary travels.
During these days and throughout the duration of the treatment it is very important that the Centre and the patients have a good communication.
